Holly Dickinson, OCRA President
Greetings,
I am writing to you on a cool, crisp Labor Day in our great state of Ohio. We live in a state that
holds so much ground in cancer research, treatment, and outcomes as reflected by our Ohio
Cancer Incidence Surveillance System (OCISS) reports.
As Oncology Data Specialists- Certified, we hold the key to putting the patient’s entire cancer
journey into dynamic coding fields to allow physicians and researchers to give the quickest and
most accurate feedback on their patients. As we know in this career, fighting the good fight
against cancer requires endurance from both the patient, the providers, AND the cancer
registry.
Endurance is more obtainable when we work together as a group to maintain a level of
consistency and professionalism. OCRA is a membership that asks for your service, but also
provides a service to you in offering mentorship, education, and networking opportunities.
If you have not already, please be sure to register for our annual state meeting:
Annual Educational Conference – Ohio Cancer Registrars Association (ohio-ocra.org)
If you are not already an OCRA member and would like additional information on how to join,
please contact our Membership chair, Cheryl Radin-Norman LPN, RHIT, ODS-C

My Best,
Holly Dickinson, A.A.S. CIM; ODS-C, CTR
President, Ohio Cancer Registrars Association
